  1. The Travois conferences are always awesome to attend as there are so many great and informative training sessions. The Red Lake Housing likes to send at least 4-6 staff to the conference, however with the conference being held in San Diego, we are only able to send 2 staff. The airfare costs and hotel costs are so very expensive for this particular venue. The entire travel is going to cost over $3,500.00 just for two staff to attend. I am hoping that the next years conference will be held at a venue that is not so high rate and costly. We like to have as many staff attend your wonderful conference and we hope we will be able to send more to the next years conference. I always gain useful knowledge and love all the networking opportunities. Thank you, Linda

    • Hi, Linda! Thank you for the comment! We are so glad that two Red Lake staff members are able to attend and wish there could have been more as well. We understand the difficulties with travel budgets and the expense of hotel stays, and we hoped that waiving registration fees would make things easier this year. We also rotate the conference location to visit different regions, so travel expenses are more manageable for the tribes that live in that region. We’ll look into heading back to Minnesota or the Upper Midwest for a future conference and hope to have lots of Red Lake folks there. We’ve had a wonderful time and great hospitality at our previous Minnesota conferences. Thank you for your support and past attendance (and sharing your experiences with other attendees too!).
