Pascua Yaqui # 3

Guadalupe, Arizona 85283

The Pascua Yaqui Homes III development will build 37 new units within the tribe’s Las Flores de Guadalupe Subdivision in Guadalupe, AZ. The project received a 2015 allocation of LIHTCs from the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) in the amount of $625,332.

The project will construct a combination of five-plexes and duplex units and a new community building. Fifteen of the homes, or three buildings of five-plexes, will be set aside for elders, who will live in either one-bedroom or two-bedroom units.

Families will occupy the remaining eleven duplexes, made up of 22 units that each have three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.

Thirteen units will be targeted to households with incomes at or below 40 percent AMI, 17 units will be targeted to households at or below 50 percent AMI, while the remaining seven units will be targeted to households at or below 60 percent AMI.

The project is intended to serve members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The population expected to reside in the project units are tribal members living off the main reservation in Tucson but on traditional homelands in Guadalupe.

The project will have access to many nearby amenities including a childcare facility, a senior center, frequent bus transit, a public library, an urgent care facility, a public park and fitness center.

Additionally an agreement has been signed with Pascua Yaqui’s Division of Education to provide computer training, job training and quarterly credit and financial counseling on-site at the community building to be constructed as part of the project.

Because a large portion of the project’s residents will be seniors age 55 and up, the Division of Education will help the elderly population with educational, as well as physical, emotional and financial issues that affect them. The division’s close ties to the Town of Guadalupe’s senior center just north of the project will be instrumental in meeting their needs.

Additionally, for the units targeted to households with children, the division will provide direction on such things as youth tutoring and extracurricular activities, parental rights in their children’s education, child care contacts, and family activities opportunities in the area.
