#20YearsEquals: Tribes protecting tribes

As part of our 20-year anniversary celebration, we’ve heard from organizations, tribes and individuals in Indian Country – from the American Indian College Fund to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to Ho-Chunk Inc. Our latest video is from AMERIND Risk, and I’m pleased to share it because AMERIND is a trusted organization that has been providing insurance solutions to Indian Country for almost 30 years, and more specifically an organization that Travois has worked with to provide coverage on our clients’ Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects.

As the only 100-percent tribally-owned insurance solutions provider, AMERIND Risk has been providing insurance – specifically property, liability and workers’ compensation insurance – since 1986. For our LIHTC projects, AMERIND provides property and liability insurance to the LIHTC partnerships as well as coverage to the individual tribe or tribal housing authority serving as the project’s property manager and/or general contractor.

Watch the video below to hear from AMERIND staff members on what the last #20YearsEquals to them and how they envision the future.

After a brief introduction to AMERIND, you’ll hear from:

Derek Valdo (Pueblo of Acoma) – Chief Executive Officer

Nancy Harjo Serna (Muscogee (Creek)) – Director of Marketing

Alan Romero – Director of Claims

Tina Duncan (Navajo) – Sales Manager

We applaud AMERIND for its critical efforts and support of Indian Country and look forward to working together for many years to come.
