Tribal Tax Credit Projects Receive Additional $3.23 Million For Low Income Housing

The Federal Home Loan Banks of San Francisco, Boston, Topeka, and Des Moines awarded additional funding to nine tribal projects across the country through the Affordable Housing Program. Housing Authorities will use the extra subsidy to reduce or eliminate the need for any tribal funding in the project.

Two Washington projects, Tulalip Homes II (25-unit acquisition/rehabilitation) and Colville Homes I (25-unit new construction) received $450,000 and $400,000 respectively. The Standing Rock Housing Authority in North Dakota received two awards, $200,000 for a 20-unit acquisition/rehabilitation project (Standing Rock Homes 14) and $400,000 for a second 20-unit acquisition/rehabilitation (Standing Rock Homes 16).

The Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy Reservation Housing Authority in Maine received $400,000, the Red Lake Housing Authority in Minnesota received $269,273, the White Earth Reservation Housing Authority in Minnesota won $500,000, the Wichita Housing Authority in Oklahoma received $450,000 and the Ft. Belknap Housing Authority in Montana won $170,319.

Travois provided application consulting services on all nine projects.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco awarded $30.5 million in this round with projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina and Washington. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston awarded its funding to projects located in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

As of this posting, the Federal Home Loan Banks of Topeka and Des Moines had not yet posted to their websites the complete lists of AHP Round 2 funding.
