Red Lake grocery store

Red Lake, Minnesota 56671

Red Lake Inc., an economic development enterprise of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, and its subsidiary, Red Lake Retail, built a new grocery store to better serve the Red Lake Reservation and surrounding community.

The store, directly across the street from the existing Red Lake Trading Post, increased the store space to about 2.5 times more than the past space, added a Subway restaurant, expanded produce, dairy, meat and grocery options, and generated substantial energy savings.

The development created 45 construction jobs, 20 new permanent jobs, and

retained 30 permanent jobs from the existing store.

The Red Lake Trading Post Grocery Store project was awarded Small Deal of the Year at NAFOA’s 12th Annual Leadership Awards Luncheon during the 37th Annual Conference. Click here to read the news release.
