Compliance Corner: Learn how to prepare for inspections

We help clients reach the critical goal of providing decent, safe and affordable housing for families who need them. But after a project is funded, construction is completed, and homes are rented to families, we’re not finished. The hard work continues: managing and maintaining the homes.

State agencies and investors who are partners on Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects will visit periodically and inspect the homes and property. These are called on-site physical inspections, and projects must pass them to maintain funding.

Join me for a two-day training on Tuesday, March 21 and Wednesday, March 22 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Anaheim-Orange County in Orange, CA, to learn about the Uniform Physical Conditions Standards (UPCS) Inspection Protocols and how to pass your inspections and keep your homes safe and healthy. Download the agenda and a registration form.

Attendees of our UPCS training will learn:

  1. What areas are inspected, how defects are determined, and which are the most critical health and safety categories and life-threatening hazards.
  2. How to remedy non-compliance findings.
  3. How the use of data can generate reports such as work orders, maintenance trends and capital planning to make the maintenance process easier and more efficient.

The host hotel is located just one mile from Disneyland Park, and a complimentary shuttle to and from there is available for hotel guests.

The fee for this training is $225 per person, which covers all materials, breakfast, snacks and refreshments over two days. Attendees will also receive a certificate of completion.

Make sure to book your hotel room before the Saturday, Feb. 25 deadline.
