November is American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month

November is the time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions and histories of American Indians and Alaska Natives. Heritage month serves as a great opportunity to educate the general public about tribes and their important contributions, unique challenges and solutions (both historically and present) and amazing ways in which they keep their communities strong and vibrant.

Visit www.aianheritagemonth.org to read more about heritage month history, see national events and find out ways to get involved and celebrate. A national events calendar is available here.

If you don’t live near an area where events are planned, check out the American Indian College Fund’s blog for five other ideas.
