One for the books

(Marianne Roos is vice chairman for Travois)

Well, 2012 is now one for the books. Check out our annual report here. It was the year we broke through the ceiling — literally. We launched an environmental initiative by installing 330 solar panels on the roof of our Kansas City office building. We were honored to be chosen as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses in Kansas City by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and as one of the top 50 impact investment fund managers in the country. Our Travois New Markets team was awarded a $70 million allocation in April and closed $58.6 million by the end of the year, closing the remaining $11.4 million in January. Our housing development team raised $56 million for seven housing projects, and our Asset Management team moved 234 families into their new homes. Travois Design & Construction Services designed 19 different housing unit types for 241,443 feet of new housing. Our inspectors wielded their cameras and rulers to make sure 499 units were built according to spec, while our environmental team completed 15 Phase 1 assessments.

We look forward to writing a new chapter in 2013 – and together with our innovative clients, making this year another for the record books.
