Travois recently presented five community Superhero Awards to four individuals and one project team who exemplify professionalism and have achieved impressive results in the affordable housing and economic development industries in American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities.
We will end our Superhero spotlights with this final awardee. Tohono O’odham Ki:Ki Association (TOKA) of Sells, Arizona, was awarded the Project Team of the Year for representing what we are all striving for in Indian Country affordable housing or economic development.
This week we will recognize our Haven of the Year recipient, Eva Doyle. Eva is a member of the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo in El Paso, Texas. She’s worked in affordable housing since 1982 and is currently a Low Income Housing Tax Credit specialist at the YDSP housing department.
This week’s Superhero Awards winner feature is Advanced Native Construction, receiving the Pillar of the Year Award. The award honors a construction or maintenance professional, company or group that has played a key role in building communities.
For the second year in a row at our annual conference, we recognized clients doing incredible work in Indian Country. You can read about last year’s Superhero Awards winners here. We will be featuring each awardee on the blog in the coming weeks.
Our clients accomplish amazing things every day, and it’s not often enough that their dedication and efforts are recognized.
Recently, I hit a small milestone — my first year at Travois!
The holidays and the new year are just around the corner, and that means it’s a perfect time for reflection. This year, I am giving thanks for the opportunity to work with amazing clients all around the country.
