Partner, learn, diversify: Our experience in the Small Business Finance Collaborative

Travois is excited to be in a new program, sponsored by Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) and Goldman Sachs, called the Small Business Finance Collaborative. This is part of Goldman Sachs’ 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative.

We are proud to join an impressive cadre of mission-driven small business lenders to share ideas, learn from each other and set an aggressive growth goal. We participate in monthly conference calls and follow a rigorous curriculum taught by OFN, America’s leading community development finance group.

Travois’ service offerings need to evolve with the needs and opportunities that exist in our market. While we are proud of the small business investments we have made with New Markets Tax Credits, we also understand that tax credits are not the right fit for all small business borrowers. We are adding new products and services to reach all entrepreneurs in American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities. The peer learning and access to mentoring the collaborative provides is a cornerstone of this effort.

If you have been thinking of Travois as a tax-credits-only company, get in touch with me. I can talk with you about our evolution and the new products we will soon be offering to small businesses.
