Lucy F. Covington Government Center

Washington

The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation create economic opportunity by investing in tribal members. Historically, the tribes had provided services to members at inadequate facilities spread across a large reservation.

By constructing the new Lucy F. Covington Government Center in Nespelem, WA, the tribes centralized these crucial services. This unification of service providers under one convenient roof lowers the cost and increases access to the services members need.

This project created high quality construction and ongoing jobs for tribal members and boosts the regional economy. Travois consulted with the tribes to bring U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, EcoTrust, Waveland Ventures and LISC New Markets together to make this project happen.

The New Markets Tax Credit was a crucial tool to close project gaps and bring this much-needed community development to fruition.
