Sun, sand and tax credits

Our 18th Annual Travois Indian Country Affordable Housing & Economic Development Conference will be held on April 9-11, 2018, in Marina del Rey, California!

Our educational conference combines instruction, client case studies, panel discussions with industry experts and hands-on activities. We demonstrate successful projects and future possibilities for community growth and development using the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) programs.

Using the two federal tax credit programs, our clients have created more than $1.2 billion of new and rehabilitated homes, businesses and services and more vibrant communities in American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities.

Our SoCal host hotel is blocks away from the beach, ocean activities, shopping, outdoor dining and cool local hangouts. The planning has just begun, but we can share a few details with you:

  • How does breakfast with a view sound to you? We will be enjoying our morning coffee on the penthouse level outdoor patio with city and coastline views.
  • We will continue using our Travois Conference mobile app. At our last conference, attendees gave it rave reviews for the detailed schedule, session information, speaker bios, networking opportunities, project examples and more! We’re also adding more opportunities to win prizes just for using the app!
  • Honoring Industry “superheroes” is one of our favorite conference events. We recognize great people doing great work in Indian Country at our Travois Superhero Awards.

Attendees will receive detailed instruction on Travois’ services to Native communities: financing and developing rental and for-sale affordable housing, the LIHTC program, economic development, the NMTC program, asset management and compliance, architectural design, construction monitoring, impact investments, and how we can work together to advance public policy for developments in Indian Country.

We are offering 150 free registrations to employees of TDHEs, tribes, tribal colleges and universities, Alaska Native groups, and Native Hawaiian organizations! Plan ahead to make sure you get one of these seats!

We’ll update you with fun details as our planning progresses. Until then, check out all that Marina del Rey has to offer!
