The Karuk Tribe used New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) funding to expand and update services for Tribal members in Yreka and Happy Camp, California.
Tribal leaders developed a new Family Services Center and Resident Services Center in Happy Camp and rehabilitated a medical and dental clinic in Yreka.

The Family Services Center hosts a variety of critical Tribal programs, including behavioral and substance abuse counseling, job training and employment assistance, as well as Indian Child Welfare and Social Services.


The Resident Services Center provides Tribal members with a full-service gymnasium and community center with exercise and locker rooms.
Renovations to the medical and dental clinic improved traffic flow and parking, fixed a leaking roof, and updated the HVAC system.
