The Ysleta del Sur Pueblo’s first Low Income Housing Tax Credit project was featured in the January issue of the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits, a magazine that provides news, analysis and commentary of affordable housing, community development and renewable energy tax credits.
The article details how YDSP combined funding sources, worked with its state allocating agency and closed with an investor en route to becoming the first tribal LIHTC project in Texas. The project created 60 homes for needy families and also includes a 40,000-square foot park, a community center with meeting space, a police substation and a housing department satellite office.
Travois served as the consultant on the successful LIHTC application and the $600,000 Affordable Housing Program grant and is providing asset management services.
