The 2012 Olympic Games in London is in full swing. While I have enjoyed watching all of the events, I was really looking forward to watching the men’s 10,000-meter race.
I cheered for our American runner, Galen Rupp, as he came in second and won the silver medal, the first medal for a U.S. man in the 10,000-meter race since Billy Mills won the gold in 1964.
Billy Mills is the keynote speaker at the 12th Annual Travois Indian Country Affordable Housing & Economic Development Conference. Mr. Mills still holds the distinction of being the only American to ever win a gold medal in the men’s 10,000-meter race. I wonder if he will mention this year’s close race in his talk?
