New Markets Tax Credits were used to help fund TERRA-NW, a project that will provide broadband internet access to 68 communities in western Alaska. The project is featured in the December 2011 issue of the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits.
Travois New Markets provided $23.65 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing for the project, which will benefit rural Alaska Natives villages. Broadband will decrease the isolate these communities face and will create opportunities for more education, job and economic growth.
Phil Glynn, Travois vice president of economic development, is quoted in the article.
