The July issue of the Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits highlighted the Pascua Yaqui Tribe’s Itom Hiapsi project, which was funded in part through New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs).
The new Itom Hiapsi center supports the health and wellness needs of tribal members and also serves as a satellite community center with education, cultural and language services.
The total project cost was $9 million, and Wells Fargo contributed investor equity of $2.7 million.
Travois is the community development entity (CDE) for the project and provided the NMTCs for the transaction.
