The Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) named the recipients of the 2014 Brian Mickelsen Housing Hero Awards on Sept. 12, and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe was honored with the Tribal Initiatives Award.
The tribe was recognized for completing two Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects, totaling 96 units, in less than three years. The projects, known as Pascua Yaqui Homes 2 and Pascua Yaqui Homes 4, added 40 new homes and rehabilitated more than 70 others.
Travois serves as Pascua Yaqui’s development consultant and nominated the tribe for its outstanding work.
