Lizzy Brown
Architectural Designer I | Travois
In my role as an architectural designer, I prepare preliminary design documents, create 3D renderings, and translate design concepts into technically detailed construction document sets. Additionally, I assist with project bidding and value engineering.
I graduated from Kansas State University with a Master of Architecture degree and have earned certifications as a Certified Nonprofit Professional and LEED Green Associate.
Before joining Travois, my professional experience with Habitat for Humanity ignited my passion for affordable housing and always keeping the client's needs in mind. I’m adaptable, a good listener, and eager to continue learning how to best help the people we serve.
One of my proudest achievements was living and working in Cairo, Egypt, where I navigated a completely different culture while working for a nonprofit. There, I created drawings, diagrams, 3D models, and renderings for projects across the Middle East.
I’m passionate about community service and volunteer as a gardener for the Giving Grove, and I love visiting the Kansas City Public Library. My inspirations include amazing people, good books, and tall trees. In fact, Arbor Day is my favorite holiday!
For me, the perfect day involves reading outside and cooking dinner with family, and I'm fortunate to have so many relatives living in the Kansas City area.
