What does it mean to be the director of community investments for Travois New Markets? It means I know a guy who can give me a four-wheeler ride from Goodnews Bay Seafoods to the Platinum, Alaska, Airport. It means I know the best places to stop for lunch on the way to Shiprock, New Mexico. It means I have seen the Rams take the court against other Tribal Colleges and Universities. It means I get to interact with our amazing advisory board members.
It is my job to oversee Travois New Markets’ projects from start to finish — including the underwriting, preparation, and closing of projects. I also help with the annual New Markets Tax Credit allocation applications and assist with compliance and asset management.
I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia (Go ‘Hoos!) and a master’s from the University of Texas (Hook ‘Em!). As a music lover and record collector, I look for ways to incorporate music and the arts into community impact measurement.

An update on the Yukon-Koyukuk Elder Assisted Living Facility (YKEALF)
Last year on May 27, a build up of ice created a jam on the Yukon River in Alaska, about 40 miles downstream of the village of Galena and the Yukon-Koyukuk Elder Assisted Living Facility (YKEALF). This created a natural dam and caused water and huge ice chunks to rise into the surrounding villages.
