This 24-unit acquisition/rehab project, located on the Bad River Reservation, received an allocation from Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Agency in 2009. The project consists of 14 units at Circle Drive (aka The Compound) and 10 units at Birch Hill.
The housing authority selected the Circle Drive units because they were the tribe’s oldest managed units (built in the late 1960s) and in the most need of repair. The Birch Hill units were selected because of their close location to the other units undergoing green renovations.
All units were designed to be energy efficient with each home being connected to a new geothermal heating and cooling system. Garages were added to each unit at Birch Hill and new roof truss systems were added to the homes at Circle Drive. All units are targeted to households with incomes at or below 60 percent Area Median Income.
Raymond James Tax Credit Funds is the investor for this project.
