Yurok Homes #4

California

Yurok Homes #4 is an affordable housing development on the Yurok Indian Reservation and the first Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) project in the community of Klamath Glen, California. Developed by the Yurok Indian Housing Authority (YIHA), it includes 24 homes and a community building for members of the Yurok Tribe.

The development features 12 buildings each with a three-bedroom home and an attached one-bedroom accessory dwelling unit. YIHA is building the homes for households living at 30%, 40%, 50% and 80% of the area median income to reduce a lengthy waitlist of families in need of affordable housing.

The California Tax Credit Allocation Committee awarded Yurok Homes #4 a 2023 allocation of $1,739,667 in federal tax credits. As part of the LIHTC process, this will provide nearly $15 million in debt-free investor equity to help pay for the estimated $18.9 million development. Travois is providing housing development, architecture and asset management and compliance services for the development.
