2013 is here! And so are new resolutions. Travois employees shared their resolutions and wishes for our clients for the new year. Read on to see what goals, improvements and life changes everyone will be working toward.
David Bland
I resolve to play shortstop for the Kansas City Royals and to hit .300 with 30 stolen bases and 30 home runs. They need me more than Travois does. For all of our Indian Country customers, I wish for abundant snow to water the spring fields and a warm and sunny growing season, with rain when it is needed and warm, bright, sunny days throughout.
Ashley Bland
My personal resolution is to get organized! For our clients, my goal is to build our library of sustainable, custom designs and plans to improve the quality of affordable housing.
Matt Raplinger
My resolution is to make more site visits this coming year to strengthen working relationships with clients. My wish for clients is that the 9 percent locked tax credit rate gets extended. (This has already come true! Read here.)
Kari Hutchison
My resolution is to devote more time to exercise and become a healthier me!
Greg Bland
My wish for clients is to see more renewable energy projects in Indian Country. My resolution is to do my best to help find financing for renewable energy projects.
Marianne Roos
My resolution for 2013 is to read more and learn more about the history of our tribal clients.
Dena Campbell
My New Year’s resolution is to allocate my most precious resources, my time and my money, to more closely align with what I value: the inherent worth and dignity of every person; justice, equity and compassion in human relations; acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth; a free and responsible search for truth and meaning; and respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
Elizabeth Glynn
I personally resolve to keep my house more organized all year, and my wish for our clients is to enjoy the benefits of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit 9 percent tax credit locked rate with more equity in housing projects!
Emily Siedlik
My resolution is to take a vacation with friends and try baking and cooking more new recipes. For our clients, I hope to obtain tax credit allocations for tribes in states that have never awarded tribal projects before.
Kellie Burke
My resolution is more learning for a new life event. I would like to learn as much as I can about what to expect when I become a first-time mother. I have never been the type of person that can just sit and read a book, and I am hoping to get through a few before the big day!
Phil Glynn
My New Year’s resolution is to exercise 30 minutes every day. My wish for our clients is three new community health centers.
Bryan Schuler
My resolution is pretty much the same as it has been for the last eight years: to be the best father to my children and the best husband to my wife while balancing my commitments to my job, faith and family. My wish for my clients would be to keep focused on their missions of providing affordable housing for their families and communities.
Matthew Bland
My personal goal is to run 365 total miles during the year, and my wish for our clients is for one to do a for-sale housing project with New Markets Tax Credits.
Beth Heap
My New Year’s resolution is to not sweat the small stuff and focus more on the big picture. My hope for our clients and friends is that they have fulfilling work, that they and their loved ones are healthy and safe, and that they have many laughs and few frustrations.
Eden Rensing
My resolution is to create a home cleaning schedule and stick to it. My wish is that all attendees at our 13th Annual Travois Conference will learn something new that will help them meet their goals.
