We are thrilled that Tatanka Means will be our keynote speaker for the 13th Annual Travois Indian Country Affordable Housing & Economic Development Conference. Tatanka Means is an accomplished actor, comedian, entrepreneur and equality advocate from Chinle, AZ, who represents the Oglala Lakota, Omaha and Navajo Nations. He will share his story with us during Tuesday’s lunch at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza. Read his full bio on our website.
Our agenda is full of fun and informative presentations. We’re bringing back, by popular demand, our Low Income Housing Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit skits with a few new actors and a lot of new jokes.
Keep checking back to our website for session updates and optional activities! Here are a few we have planned:
- Our annual welcome reception will be held on Monday night at our offices in Kansas City.
- A golf outing is in the works for Monday morning for those who can arrive a bit early.
- On Tuesday night, we will be shuttling attendees to Howl at the Moon in the Kansas City Power and Light District for a dueling piano show.
- We will be touring the American Indian Gallery at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on Wednesday afternoon and making a trip to Ameristar Casino that evening.
We hope you join us for each activity. If you would like to see what else KC has to offer, check out the host city page on our website.
You’re ready for the conference already, right? The first step is to register!
