As you know, many of the Native American tribes here in the U.S. are indirectly or directly related to the First Nations of Canada. It has long been one of our goals to get to know more about the indigenous peoples in Canada and throughout the world as we work to improve housing conditions domestically.
And now our opportunity has arrived. This June 11–15 we are one of the co-sponsors of the World Indigenous Housing Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia. We will learn more about the housing crisis that is besetting the reserves of Canada and the indigenous peoples of Australia and New Zealand as well.
We will no doubt learn a lot about how the Native peoples of those countries cope with their housing conditions, and perhaps some of our experiences with Native American tribes will be of interest to the indigenous peoples of other countries.

I hope to see some of our U.S. partners at the conference.
