To our friends and partners across Indian Country, I offer heartfelt congratulations.
During the 20 years Travois has been in business, American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian organizations have used our services to develop more than $1 billion in projects.
This year marks our 20th anniversary. Throughout the year, we will be taking to Twitter, Facebook, www.travois.com and our blog to say what #20YearsEquals to us. Every month, we will produce a video, audio or other visual story to celebrate what we have done together across two decades. We invite all of you to the conversation. Tell us what #20YearsEquals in your business, your community and your family.
Travois is a family business. And families are the best way to measure the meaning of the billion-dollar milestone we have reached together. Today, 1,758 families have the opportunity to own their own home because of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Through the investments we have made together, another 3,059 families benefited because a parent, sibling or grandparent got a quality job during these developments. Look at this month’s illustrated report to see the many other things that have come from 20 years and $1 billion.
The story of our first 20 years and our first billion dollars is in large part your story. Join the conversation by tweeting what #20YearsEquals to you, your tribe, your business, your community or your family.
Let’s make #20YearsEquals a place that inspires other tribes, individuals and businesses to achieve their goals. Let’s make #20YearsEquals a place where Congress can look to see the power of the LIHTC and New Markets Tax Credit programs. Let’s engage in a year-long conversation to celebrate our past successes and set the bar even higher for our future work together.
To those with whom we have already worked, we are grateful for your partnership. To those with whom we are just beginning a conversation, we cannot wait to see the great things that lie ahead.
Today we kick off our #20YearsEquals campaign. Please look over the illustrated report that shares 20-year accomplishments, and take a moment to hear from Indian Country business leader and Travois advisory board member Lance Morgan about what #20YearsEquals in his community.
Spread the word about our #20YearsEquals campaign – the more, the merrier! And share you own story with the world at #20YearsEquals.
With sincere gratitude and great hope for the future,
David W. Bland
