Travois provided a $25,000 donation to NAFOA’s professional development programs to support seven Native professionals in their continuing education endeavors. The funds will provide one scholarship for the 2023 Leadership Summit and six scholarships for the Executive Leadership Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities (LPIBSC) program.
“The generous donation from Travois will provide access to the highest quality of professional development programs to those Native professionals who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of Indian Country,” said Rico Frias, NAFOA Executive Director. “We are grateful for their continued support of NAFOA’s educational mission.”
The NAFOA Leadership Summit provides Native youth and young professionals the opportunity to learn about the current issues and policies impacting tribal economic development. Applications open in January 2023.
The LPIBSC program strives to inspire and support Native finance professionals and leaders and equip them with the tools to lead high-performing, innovative communities or organizations. NAFOA is currently accepting applications.
“In our work, we see firsthand the incredible creativity and leadership of this next generation,” said Elizabeth Glynn, Travois CEO. “We are proud to support NAFOA’s educational mission and the dedicated professionals working to advance housing and economic development in Indigenous communities.”
