Just a short 45-minute drive from the Travois office, Haskell Indian Nations University provides a college education to students from more than 150 tribes each year.

It was great to reconnect with old friends and make new connections at last week’s Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Morning Schmooze. Travois often opens our space up to local organizations for meetings and events.

A panel of judges selected 25 NextGen Leaders, a Kansas City Business Journal award, based on their accomplishments, talents and contributions to the Kansas City community. Elizabeth Bland Glynn, our chief operation officer (and my daughter), was selected as one of these inspiring 25.

I like to count down the number of days in anticipation of big events — birthdays, vacations, holidays — and right now I’m looking forward to the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) Annual Convention and Trade Show in our hometown in June.
