The Coastal Villages Region Fund is constantly reinvesting directly into the futures of local people. Long before New Markets Tax Credits came into the picture for its Goodnews Bay Seafoods Project, CVRF was making investments in the skill sets of the Native peoples of the Bering Sea Coast and Kuskokwim River Delta. It is this strategy of investing in individual success that attracted Travois to CVRF’s project in the first place. This policy of ongoing investment is a cornerstone of CVRF’s continued success.
CVRF believes People Propel. That is why CVRF makes credit available to working families to upgrade the equipment they need to capitalize on the rich natural resource of their local fishery. CVRF also understands that a well-equipped workforce must also be well educated. CVRF provides scholarships to community members to gain the knowledge needed to succeed in an ever-changing global economy.
Travois achieves its mission by identifying change agents and investing in their vision. We are proud to be a partner of an organization that remains committed to positive change in low-income communities.
