Many of you have heard that tax reform remains a topic of discussion in Washington, D.C. If Congress contemplates any changes to the tax code, we want to be sure the tax credit programs you use to bring much need affordable housing and economic development to Indian Country remain strong.
One of the best ways to do that is to invite your elected representatives to visit your tax credit properties and show them how critical these homes and businesses are to your tribal members. Another great way to show your support is to sign on to industry advocacy letters.
We want to keep you up to date on the latest in the tax credit industry and share with you a timely opportunity to show your support. We encourage you to join the A.C.T.I.O.N. Campaign and have your tribal housing authority executive director, board of commissioners, or tribal elected leaders sign on to a letter encouraging Congress to “strengthen and expand the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program.”
You can see the letter here. If you want to join on, please sign the letter by July 2, 2015. Travois is a member of the action campaign and supports the great work the members are doing to create opportunities for families to succeed all across the country.
Support is especially need from organizations in the following states:
- Alaska
- Idaho
- Kansas
- Nevada
- New Mexico
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
