Little Big Horn College (LBHC),the higher education institution of the Crow (Apsáalooke) Tribe of Indians, has long been a thought leader in a number of fields impacting Indian Country. LBHC further established itself as a center of cutting-edge design by building its energy-efficient Health and Wellness Center, which opened in 2011.
On Dec. 10-11, the college will host a free training — Learning from our Elders: Culturally and Environmentally Responsive Design for Tribal Communities. The two-day training is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The training is tailored for design and construction professionals — including housing directors, maintenance specialists, developers, housing commissioners and tribal council members — who want to learn more about the economic, environmental and cultural benefits of forward-thinking design.
Green building increases quality and lowers the cost of housing and economic development projects throughout Indian Country. If you are a professional in this field looking to learn more about this topic, this training would be a great place to start. Find more information here.
