Travois has now sponsored and attended several Native American Finance Officers Association (NAFOA) conferences, and they never disappoint. From watching Muscogee Creek Principal Chief George Tiger address leadership in Indian Country to hearing U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu discuss the state of the economic recovery, this year’s agenda was packed.
Brett Schwarz, chief financial officer, and Eden Rensing, communications coordinator, joined me at the event in New Orleans. The host hotel was the beautiful Roosevelt Waldorf Astoria.
We reconnected with some old friends and learned about some exciting new opportunities.
As with any trip to New Orleans, we are coming home with plenty of new business cards, heads full of new ideas and a few extra pounds. It is hard to find a bad meal in New Orleans.
We heard great jazz pouring out of nearly every door we passed in the French Quarter.
Congratulations to NAFOA on its largest conference yet. Thanks to the whole NAFOA staff and board for making it a great event.
