I’m happy to share that we will be working in the state of Utah with the Utah Paiute Tribal Housing Authority. It will be our first time working in the state!
On a recent visit, we met with the housing board and a representative from each of the five constituent bands. We discussed Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and a project of both rehab and new construction. The new construction will be a multi-family building reserved specifically for local Utah Paiute families who are transitioning from homelessness.
After the meetings were finished, we went out to dinner and explored Cedar City! We checked out the new Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre, which just recently opened in July, and the older Randall L. Jones Theatre. In the photos below, the older theatre has the red seats. You can read more information about Utah’s Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City here.
I decided to stay the weekend and explore more. I went hiking right outside St. George and snapped some great scenery photos. Check out a few below. An interesting fact about my trip; Cedar City and St. George are only 50 miles apart but differ in elevation by 3,000 feet. The temperature in St. George was about 10 degrees hotter too.
I enjoyed my time in Utah and look forward to visiting our new partners often!
