Pat Mercier named Economic Development Professional of the Year

During our 19th Annual Travois Indian Country Affordable Housing & Economic Development Conference in Miami, FL, we honored professionals in five categories at our Superhero Awards ceremony. This was our fifth year honoring industry professionals doing amazing work in their communities, and it’s become one of our favorite activities during our annual conference.

Pat Mercier, CFO of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, was named Economic Professional of the Year.

Dirk Wallace, partner at Novogradac & Company, happily introduced our Economic Professional of the Year. Novogradac & Company served as our Superhero Sponsor.

Pat currently leads a team of three and is shooting for the stars! The economic development team is working to build a strong community through infrastructure, health care, education, business and other community projects. The list is long but attainable.

Plans are in motion to expand an existing clinic, develop a complex, build a community center, administration building, and wellness center, and provide elder and member housing.

Pat helps spark positive economic change in her community! Pat was unable to join us at the ceremony but sent a few words and a happy acceptance photo with team member Tad.

“We are grateful for the recognition of our work in rebuilding the community of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians,” Pat said. “We look forward to an exciting future from our new Community Center!”

Congratulations, Pat! We look forward to seeing your community goals actualize!
