Any follower of ours on social media knows that we log a lot of miles. This means many hours on the road with our clients riding between site visits or to meetings. We highly value that face time. It makes us better at our jobs because we learn about the real world impacts of the investments we bring to Indian Country.
When we are not having conversations with clients, however, we spend a lot of time stuck on planes. Travoisians work hard. If there is Internet access on a flight, it is a safe bet that someone from our team is tapping out an email to you.
But every once in a while, we find time to catch up on our reading out there on the road. Plenty of blogs will offer reading tips for summer vacations. Only here at Dreamcatcher is someone tackling the all-important task of book recommendations for work trips. So what are our road warriors reading at the moment?
Adam Rose: “Titan: the Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr.” by Ron Chernow
Marie Allen: “The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood” by David Simon and Edward Burns
Matthew Bland: “The Book: Playing the Percentages in Baseball” by Tom Tango, Mitchel Lichtman and Andrew Dolphin
Michael Bland: “The Shadow Rising” by Robert Jordan (Note from Michael: This is currently in preproduction to be a television show on FXX, just like “Game of Thrones.”)
If you want to recommend a book to the many weary travelers who read this blog, send us a comment or tweet @TravoisKC. Here’s to safe travels and happy reading.
