I have worked in the affordable housing industry for more than 20 years, and my career experience includes roles in and out of Native communities. As a former affordable housing building manager, I can identify with your many responsibilities to your tenants and staff.
At Travois, I work to build and maintain relationships with our clients, primarily through education and outreach. This includes training on various topics important to affordable housing professionals who serve Native communities—from NAHASDA and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) to the latest housing regulation changes affecting Tribally Designated Housing Entities.
I am a Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), and a Housing Compliance Manager for Rural Development programs (HCM-R).Â
Additionally, I'm a Certified Tribal Housing Professional (CTHP), a professional designation that recognizes expertise in effectively using the LIHTC program and NAHASDA to build affordable housing in Native communities. Several times a year, I lead CTHP training courses to pass this knowledge along to THDE employees and others interested in leveraging these programs to benefit their communities.
