Crystal Banks-Mann is a part of the Travois Asset Management team. In her position of compliance specialist, she helps clients to meet investor and state reporting requirements and reviews tenant files to ensure accuracy. We asked her to fill out this short questionnaire so our staff, clients and project partners could get to know her better.
Here’s a little more about Crystal:
Education: I attended Missouri Western State University, and I am currently working on a B.S. in Sociology. I am also a designated Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM), National Compliance Professional (NCP) and NAHASDA & Tax Credit Compliance Professional (NTCCP).
What attracted you to Travois? I love the casual environment and the people who work here, plus traveling and getting to work with so many awesome clients.
How will your past experience help you at Travois? I was an on-site property manager for 12 years before I started with Travois, so I am familiar with the day-to-day experiences of managing LIHTC communities. I think that sense of empathy combined with my knowledge is ideal for working with our clients.
What is one thing you would like Travois staff and clients to know about you? I have an extensive collection of Star Wars memorabilia.
What did you want to be as a kid? A member of X-Men
What is your favorite meal? Sour cream chicken enchiladas
If you were stranded on a desert island and could take one item with you, what would it be? My family – and Netflix!
What talent do you wish you had? Jedi mind powers
What do you like to do when you’re not working? Watch movies and TV, play video games, go to Royals games, read, cook, and build Legos with my kids.
What do you like about Kansas City? The airport is super easy to get in and out of, the cost of living is reasonable, there is a ton of stuff to do, and the people are nice. Plus, the barbecue is fantastic.
