Laura with a good heart: Meet Laura Goodhart

If you’ve called the Travois office lately, you may have heard a new voice on the other end of the phone. Laura Goodhart is our new administrative assistant! In her own words, she likes “talking and helping people,” so it’s a great fit. She greets visitors and vendors and helps keep our office stocked with supplies and up and running.

Katie Dosenbach, who has worked at Travois since 2013 and previously filled the position, has recently transitioned to a new role: office and events manager. Katie and Laura will often team up to get things done.

Learn more about Laura below:

1. What did you do before joining Travois?

I was taking care of my granny and was a stay-at-home mom. Before that, I was a paraprofessional working with early childhood special needs children. I have always loved helping people! A friend brought me here, and the atmosphere, flexibility, and help they give to families keeps me here.

2. What do you find most rewarding about working in your position?

When I get up in the morning, I know I’m going to a great place to work that actually cares about their employees and clients.

3. Do you have any family details that you’d like to share?

I have been married for a little over 10 years to my husband, Derek, and we have 8-year-old twins: Benjamin and Annabelle. They have kept us on our toes since their birth.

4. Who has the most influence in your life?

My immediate and extended family. My dad has a huge Irish/Italian, Catholic, loud family that mostly lives here, within a 10-mile radius, and that’s been a huge part of my life.

Fill in the blank:

On weekends, you’ll find me: Ubering my children to activities, and if I’m lucky, cooking dinner for friends or family while enjoying a glass of wine.

My favorite place I’ve traveled was: Turks and Caicos

The best gift I ever received was: My children

I love Kansas City because: It has big city amenities with a small-town feel

My most recent happy memory: is my kiddos faces flying in an airplane for the first time this summer.
