This week, 30 asset management and compliance professionals joined me in Scottsdale, Arizona for the NAHASDA & Tax Credit Compliance Professionals (NTCCP) training with the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC).
The intensive course includes instruction on affordable housing laws and guidelines. We learn terms associated with both the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act (NAHASDA) and Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs. We walk through mathematic formulas to determine eligibility and monthly rent, and we discuss real-life situations, problems and solutions.
We also laugh, make jokes, and help everyone through the full three days. And I think our attendees really enjoyed the venue for this training, Hotel Valley Ho! It’s one of my favorites!
The NTCCP certification is a unique national certification that acknowledges expertise in both NAHASDA and LIHTC programs. With NAIHC, we developed this program and offer trainings throughout the year through NAIHC’s Leadership Institute.
At our other trainings this year, 22 other housing professionals attended the courses and passed the exam, bringing our total of NTCCP certificate holders to over 100! Read about others here.
After passing the exam, to receive the NTCCP certificate, attendees must also:
- demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in NAHASDA-LIHTC-related projects;
- complete Certification of Work Experience; and
- execute the NTCCP Code of Professional Responsibility.
I enjoy helping compliance and asset management professionals advance their careers and help the organizations they work for with this important training.
