I grew up this family business. I fell in love with western U.S. as a Montana kid, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geography from University of Colorado (Go Buffs!). While environmental services director, it was my job to help you prepare project files to seek an investor for a Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) or New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) development. I have travelled all over Indian Country working on ALTA surveys, Phase One Environmental Site Assessments, speaking to conferences and working with clients.
Travois’ work has been my family’s mission since I can remember. Indian Country provides many great opportunities to create new housing and new jobs by partnering with progressive tribes. Now that I have transitioned to a new career in a different field, I am honored to sit on the board of directors to help further Travois’ mission.
Recently, I made the trip up to Wisconsin to bring back a handmade piece of art to display at our office in Kansas City. This piece of art was crafted by Marvin Defoe, using only what the northern Wisconsin environment provided to him.

Recently, I was lucky enough to visit the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana to tag along with the photographer shooting the Fort Peck Housing Authority’s second Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) project.
I have been involved with this project from beginning to end.
