Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the National Congress of American Indian (NCAI) Mid Year Conference in St. Paul, MN. Bryan Schuler, vice president for housing development, and I caught up with friends and clients and spoke with many new people about potential development opportunities.

Travois is proud to be a board member of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition. Congratulations to our fellow board members — and a big shout out to our partners Rapoza & Associates — on the completion of our most recent progress report.

Many of you have heard that tax reform remains a topic of discussion in Washington, D.C. If Congress contemplates any changes to the tax code, we want to be sure the tax credit programs you use to bring much need affordable housing and economic development to Indian Country remain strong.

We would like to congratulate the Spokane Indian Housing Authority and the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo for continued excellence.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Haskell Indian Nations University and meet so many wonderful people.
