Travois hosted its 6th Annual Tax Credit Conference at the Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel in Minnesota September 19-21, 2006.
This year’s attendance surpassed the 2005 conference by 60 registrants. The 184 attendees represented over 35 different tribes, including several Tribal Colleges.
We also had several partners and sponsors attend. The official sponsors included Raymond James Tax Credit Funds, Inc., Washington Mutual, AIG SunAmerica, Vogt, Williams, & Bowen, Faegre & Benson, LLP., and Housing Data Systems, Inc.
In addition to the sponsors several key speakers included Robert Durant (this year’s recipient of a $5,000 scholarship), Ron His Horse Is Thunder (the keynote speaker), Charles Anderson from the Tulalip Tribes, Richard Barrett from Red Lake, Brian Gillian from HUD, Renee Dickinson from MHFA, and Greg Sample from Drummond Woodsum & MacMahon.
During the conference David Bland also announced that as of September 2006, Travois has helped provided over $223 million in investor equity to tribal projects.
