Blackfeet’s fifth LIHTC project receives credits from MBOH

We want to congratulate the staff of Blackfeet Housing Authority on their award of $631,225 in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) from the Montana Board of Housing (MBOH) for Blackfeet Homes V.

On April 9, the Montana Board of Housing Board of Directors met to announce the 2012 LIHTC awards. Of the fifteen applicants, six received credits totaling $2,522,238. Blackfeet Housing Authority’s application tied for the second highest scoring. View MBOH’s awards here.

With the award of credits, Blackfeet Housing Authority will construct 24 new homes on the reservation targeting households at the 40 percent, 50 percent and 60 percent of area median income levels. With more than 140 households presently on the tribe’s waiting list and more than 490 low-income families living in overcrowded conditions, the new homes included as part of the project are great news for the entire tribal community.

We look forward to working with Blackfeet as this project moves towards closing and on to construction!
