Travois was honored to host Standing Rock Housing Authority Executive Director Wilbur Red Tomahawk and Standing Rock Sioux Housing Board Chairman Doug CrowGhost in Kansas City this week.

Last week, Greg Bland and I made the trip to Phoenix, Ariz. for the Construction in Indian Country Conference (CIIC). The Arizona State University Del E. Webb School of Construction hosts the conference each year.

In 2008, the Fort Peck Housing Authority (FPHA) was unsuccessful in its attempt to receive an allocation of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) for a 23-unit rehabilitation project.

We want to congratulate the staff of Blackfeet Housing Authority on their award of $631,225 in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) from the Montana Board of Housing (MBOH) for Blackfeet Homes V.
On April 9, the Montana Board of Housing Board of Directors met to announce the 2012 LIHTC awards.

The National American Indian Housing Council holds three main events each year to help support Indian Country housing development. The 2012 Legislative Conference was held last month in Washington, DC.

I am just returning from a very exciting, very productive and very tiring week in Las Vegas at the 2012 Reservation Economic Summit (RES). RES is Indian Country’s largest business development gathering and this year’s theme was Indigenous Economic Globalization Now.
