Kickapoo Elder Housing Redevelopment

Horton, Kansas

The Kickapoo Housing Authority (KHA) will rehabilitate 17 elder units and the elder community facility on the Kickapoo Reservation in Horton, KS. The homes and community facility require significant updates — as they have not had extensive rehab or cosmetic updates since being built in 1980.

The elder community facility’s needs have also significantly increased due to more elder services being housed in the building.

The development will include many highly energy efficient building materials and systems which leads to long term savings for both the tenants and the KHA.

All income restricted, non-manager units are set-aside for persons who are age 55 or older, and/or to a person with disabilities. It is anticipated that the current tenants will satisfy the income targeting specifications and no tenants will be displaced.

Raymond James Tax Credit Funds is the development investor.
