The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law Alumni Magazine, Res Ipsa, is focusing its most recent issue on UMKC alumni who work to develop housing and community spaces for those in need. Res Ipsa is Latin for “It Speaks for Itself.

Every year during the holiday season, our team here at Travois participates in an adopt-a-family program and purchases a family’s entire wish list of Christmas gifts.
As Travois has grown as a company over the years, so has our gift-giving spirit.

Delfina Ortiz has joined our Travois Asset Management team as a compliance specialist. In her role she will review tenant files “with a fine-toothed comb” and help clients keep their properties in compliance. Her attention to detail and her easygoing nature make her a perfect fit at Travois.

Travois First Fridays on Dec. 1 will feature two artistic teams pulling inspiration from the communities they serve. We will feature our Travois Design team and Kansas City artist JT Daniels.

Art comes in many forms and there is nothing more expressive than the form of the human body. This Friday, Travois will host dancer and choreographer Maura Garcia for an interactive artist talk.

Here at Travois, we work to spark positive change in Indian Country through capital, advocacy and consulting.

Elsa Garcia has joined the Travois Design team as project assistant. She provides technical support during the design phase of developments — translating clients’ concepts into architectural design documents and helping them to become successfully completed homes and buildings.

With 14 chili entries and a smorgasbord of sides to enjoy, lunch was a salty and sweet event for Travoisians at our annual chili cook-off last week!

It’s been six months since I joined the team at Travois, and I’ve learned so much from the clients we serve and the team at Travois.
