More affordable homes coming to Arizona: Two experienced tribal clients continue LIHTC winning streaks!

Our clients are on a roll in Arizona! Two of our long-time tribal clients, Yavapai-Apache Nation Tribal Housing (YANTH) and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, were one of 14 developers to receive awards of Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) from the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) last month. More than 30 LIHTC projects applied this year.

Once complete, the developments will provide a total of 65 new homes in Arizona tribal communities. With these new developments included, our Travois development team has helped Arizona clients with 34 housing developments, building or rehabilitating 1,265 homes, in addition to community centers, parks and other amenities.

We congratulate our clients on their continued success and thank Arizona Department of Housing for recognizing tribes’ needs and maintaining a tribal set-aside.

With the recent award, Yavapai-Apache Nation Tribal Housing (YANTH) is moving forward with its seventh development, Yavapai-Apache Homes #7. The development will build 35 housing units and a community building on the Yavapai-Apache Nation in Clarkdale, AZ.

The project will consist of 30 three-bedroom units with 1,580 square feet and five four-bedroom units with 1,829 square feet. The development also includes the construction of a 7,832-square-foot community building and is expected to cost about $9.2 million.

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is moving ahead with its sixth LIHTC project, Pascua Yaqui Homes #6. The tribe will build six five-plex buildings (30 total units) on the Pascua Yaqui Reservation in Tucson, AZ.

The project will consist of 18 one-bedroom, 880-square-foot units and 12 two-bedroom units with 1,148 square feet.

Congratulations, YANTH and Pascua Yaqui! We look forward to helping you through closing and on to construction and seeing smiling faces of families on move-in days!
