Travois periodically hosts Housing Opportunity through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA) compliance trainings.

HOTMA makes numerous amendments to Sections 3, 8 and 16 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, including significant changes to income and rent calculation, net family assets and required deductions. With HUD’s issuance of Notice PIH 2023-34, Tribal Nations and TDHE’s have until Jan. 1, 2025 to implement and become compliant with the new Part 5 definition of “annual income” under the Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) program. During the session, we’ll discuss what this means to your organization’s policies and procedures.
HOTMA trainings are led by Crystal Banks-Mann, client engagement manager at Travois. This training benefits those employed in the following housing fields: executive staff, occupancy specialists, resident services, maintenance and any other staff involved in the day-today management of rental housing projects, especially those working with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
