Learn how to prepare for inspections: Register now for UPCS training in Kansas City, MO!

After a development is funded, construction is completed, and homes are rented to families, the hard work continues: managing and maintaining the homes.

State agencies and investors who are partners on Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects will visit periodically and inspect the homes and property. These are called on-site physical inspections, and developments must pass them to maintain funding.

Attend our Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) Inspection trainings to learn how to prepare. Mike Price, director of Travois Asset Management & Compliance, will lead our next  training taking place on Tuesday, July 24 and Wednesday, July 25 at the Ameristar Kansas City in Kansas City, MO.

Registration is now open!

The Ameristar Kansas City discounted room rate is now available. Please use the Ameristar Kansas City online reservation system with the group code “SCTRAVO” or call the reservation line at 816-414-7000 and mention “SCTRAVO.”

The class covers the use and implantation of UPCS inspection protocols. Participants will learn about the following:

  • Property profile
  • Building information entry
  • Defect determination
  • Health and safety categories
  • Life-threatening hazards

Information will be provided concerning how the use of data can generate reports such as work orders, maintenance trends, inspection improvement plans and capital planning. Realistic and economic suggestions and recommendations will help participants meet UPCS requirements. Read our syllabus here.
